And now for a general update into the life of Anonymity.

Boyfriend:
I have essentially been living alone for the past three months or so while the Boyfriend is out of state, working and taking care of various court cases. (Yeah, he’s a stellar catch.) It’s been wonderful, really… because you know me, I like to avoid issues, and this has been one fantastic period of avoidance. Well, he called last night to say that he was going to be home for Thanksgiving, and would probably be home a full month. Then he’ll have to go back out of state because his court case got a continuance until late next month. It was one thing to have him down for the weekend… but a whole month… I feel a tension headache starting already. I suspect the time for avoidance will soon be over, and the time for confrontation will be here. Yuck. I was really hoping he’d meet someone up there who loved him and who wanted nothing more than to get shit-faced drunk with him every night, get married, and bear his children. No such luck.

Ex-job:
They had an opening for someone in the position my friend used to hold… and they hired someone with no experience instead of hiring her back. I don’t know what the deal is with that, but it infuriates me, because she is an excellent worker who knows damn good and well what needs to be done and how to do it. And it’s not like she was demanding high wages; she’s unemployed and would love to have a minimum wage job right about now. Meanwhile, one of the board members submitted his resignation, citing health reasons (several of the board members are rather old and do have rather poor health, and I am sure all the recent stress hasn’t been good for them). So… I contacted several board members and suggested my mother, who is more than qualified to be on the board; don’t know if they’ll accept her or not. I hope so, because while they all mean well, none of them seem to have any clue (which is, of course, how the ex-boss was able to get away with so much shit for so long).

Oh, the irony. Remember how the ex-boss was going to get me and my mom in trouble because our non-profit doesn't have a license? (This is, of course, because we are not yet a non-profit, which we clearly state all over the place.) Anyway, she runs a similar non-profit in a neighboring county. It's her org, founded by her, etc... and the paper just ran a story about how it hasn't filed its annual non-profit corporate registration fee in two years! I don't want anything bad to happen to her org, as innocents would suffer, but I do definitely enjoy the irony of this situation.

Just when I thought the ex-boss's behavior couldn't get more absurd: today she notified the ex-job that she is suing the place for an injury which she claims occurred on the day before she was fired. As far as I know, she's the only employee/former employee other than her daughter to NOT sustain an injury while working there... and the injury she is claiming is so incredibly laughable that I dearly wish I could write it here! Now, if she had *actually* had received an injury, she could file a workman's comp claim... except that she had allowed the WC insurance to lapse! Also, doesn't she realize that she will need medical records to back this up? Plus, the "cause" of her "injury" is actually something that was there because of her, specifically. Is she trying to get enough evidence for an insanity plea? Because she might have a shot at that....

I thought y'all might be interested in an update on the ex-job. Well, not much has happened. The local Sheriff's Department and local prosecutor are investigating the ex-boss, although we haven't had any updates from that point of view. Meanwhile, the ex-boss keeps posting absurdities on the local community internet forum. She does this under pseudonyms, but it is nonetheless obvious that it's her. Most recently, she posted that she has a millionaire sponsor from out of state who is going to sponsor her buying land and building a new, competing facility in our county that will run the ex-job out of business. Um, yeah. Like anyone believes that. If anyone wants to see that post, I can email them a copy. Also, there was another article in the local paper, which I linked to on facebook.

The ex-job has been having a lot of trouble with the internet community in the non-profit sector in which they work. Apparently the ex-boss and her daughter have been spreading the word about how horrible the ex-job is, and now many places simply refuse to deal with the ex-job. That is simply unconscionable... I mean, even if these people thought the new staff at the ex-job were horrible people, they should still want to help the cause, right? Ugh. People suck.

And speaking thereof... remember how my friend was told the ex-job couldn't afford to hire her? Well, they have since hired two other part time people, neither of whom have experience with the place. My friend worked there almost as long as I did, and she knows all the ins and outs of the job... AND she is currently unemployed. One of the two part time people they hired has a full time job already! I don't know what the deal is with this, but it seems thoroughly unfair.
